I've heard this. Is it true that any splash damage counts as grenade damage, for skills like Steady? The Notes section of the Steady Wiki article mention something like it: As with Axton's other skills and class mods that boost 'grenade damage', Steady will boost the bonus explosive damage dealt by Torgue gyrojet projectiles.
- On action skill end - Splash Damage is increased by 200%. This also includes grenades and action skills such as Rakk Attack! Consecutive Hits increase weapon damage by 1% per hit, misses remove all bonuses. The maximum weapon damage increase is a 250% increase to weapon damage. Not doing damage for one second also removes this bonus entirely.
- Deal increased Splash Damage, and take Reduced Splash Damage. Rank 1 - Splash Damage +3%, Splash Damage Reduction +3% Root to Rise 5 Gain increased Max Health Rank 1 - Max Health +5% Helping Hand(s) 5.

Elemental Damage & Effects Overview
Enemies Have Weaknesses & Resistances
Certain enemies will be resistant or weak to certain elemental damage. Using this knowledge, you will be able to switch up your weapons to quickly deal with enemies!
Elemental Damage Can Come From Different Sources
Elemental damage can come from different sources, including guns, barrels exploding, or even your Vault Hunter's action skills!
Hitting Enemies Has A Chance To Apply Elemental Effect
Note that hitting enemies will not automatically apply the elemental effects. Each hit will only have a certain percentage of applying the effect. This means that it may take a few hits before setting an enemy on fire, or the like.
Certain Skills Amp Up Elemental Damage
Each Vault Hunters have certain skills that allow them to increase elemental damage when certain conditions are met. Make sure to spend some skill points to maximize your elemental damage output against enemies!

Incendiary Damage will deal fire damage to enemies. When the effect is applied, it will set enemies on fire & deal damage over time.

Shock will deal lightning damage to enemies. This is extremely powerful against enemies with shields (blue bar). When applied, an enemy that is shocked will become electrocuted, stunning them in place for a time.

Cryo weapons will allow you to deal cryo damage to enemies. This elemental type is strong against armored enemies but weak to shields. When the effect is applied, cryo will freeze enemies on the spot, and make them take thrice the melee damage.

Applying Radiation to enemies will deal damage over time. If the enemy dies with the effect still active, it will explode and spread the radiation effect to other nearby enemies!

One such area that we can shed more light on is the weapon vendors or manufacturers returning from previous games. Here are all the weapons you can expect to purchase for your credits in Borderlands 3.
Borderlands 3 Weapons Manufacturers
The list of the weapon merchants below is of course not complete since we’ll get more details as we near the launch of the game.
Therefore, make sure to keep coming back to this page for future updates. Weapons belonging to different manufacturers have their own theme of color or patterns so to distinguish them from the other brands or vendors.

Without further ado, let’s take a look at all weapons manufacturers that return in Borderlands 3, and the weapons they showcase.
Jakobs
All the previous weapon types including Pistols, Sniper Rifles, Assault Rifles, and Shotguns return in BL3. Not only do Jakobs’ weapons increase damage potential and accuracy, they greatly increase critical hit chances.
In the alternate firing mode, critical shots allow bullets to ricochet off an enemy to hit a nearby foe so to put down multiple targets.
Torgue
Torgue used to manufacture Sniper Rifles and SMGs in the original Borderlands, but since then they haven’t made an appearance in BL2 or this time in BL3.
The other types including Pistol, Assault Rifle, Shotgun and Rocket Launcher can be purchased from this manufacturer. These weapons have high damage potential and bullets turn into explosive ammo.
Alternate firing mode causes these explosive rounds to stick to enemies and detonate later for huge impact.
Dahl
Pistols, Sniper Rifles, SMGs, and Assault Rifles return from previous games, with the exception of Shotgun that he used to manufacture back in the original Borderlands.
All of these weapons boast high stability thanks to low recoil and enhanced scope in Alt-Fire + mode. Moreover, the weapons can also be switched to different firing modes including Auto, Semi-auto, burst fire and single fire modes.
Maliwan
Pistol, Sniper Rifles and SMGs return. In a new change though, Shotguns (back from the original Borderlands) replace Rocket Launchers that were previously available in Borderlands 2.
Elemental effects are added to the weapons automatically and they can be charged without any cost of ammo. The Alt fire mode will allow you to switch between Elements and Energy Orbs while aiming the weapon.
Hyperion
This manufacturer received the most changes, as Hyperion will no longer be making Assault Rifles, Rocket Launchers or even Pistols, all of which were part of his merchandise in the previous Borderland games.
In Borderlands 3, he provides only three weapon types: SMGs, Shotguns and Sniper Rifles. Hyperion specializes in making low-recoil and high-accuracy based weapons.
The unique Alt fire mode allows you to erect a shield while aiming down your sights. Any damage absorbed by the shield amplifies the damage output of the weapon.
Vladof

Pistols, Assault Rifles, and Sniper Rifles return from previous games along with a surprise.
As you can make in the picture above or a close-up of the weapon below, there are features of both minigun and RPG so it’s hard to say what exactly the weapon type is.
We’ll be going with a Heavy Weapon as for now. The shotgun doesn’t return from Borderlands 1 but some of the weapons above have the secondary burst fire mode that demonstrates that effect of the shotguns.
All of Vladof’s weapons have high rate of fire that can be increased even further depending on how long you hold down the fire button.
They also provide low recoil and the Alt-mode enables the use of under-barrel mounted weapons like Rockets and Tasers.
Tediore

Tediore has three weapon types at his disposal including Pistols, SMGs, and Shotguns. For the first time, he won’t sell a rocket launcher and the assault rifle is still yet to make an appearance since the original Borderlands.
Grenade launcher mod added to all weapons via Tediores’ weapon purchases. Moreover, once a weapon is discarded, you are treated to a surprise: the walking turret like gun we saw in the reveal trailer for the game.
These turrets may also stick to the walls or appear as bouncing grenades.
Atlas
Atlas has received new weapon types compared to the old one who sold Sniper Rifles and Shotguns. Instead, Atlas will provide Pistols, Assault Rifles, and Rocket Launchers. The last weapon type is new to the manufacturer.
All weapons purchased from Atlas are “wrist-mounted” providing more accuracy and less recoil. Moreover, the alternate firing modes allows to shoot a tracker dart that bullets will home in on for a short period of time.
COV
This is a new manufacturer, making debut in Borderlands 3. COV has Pistols, Assault Rifles and a mysterious powerful Heavy Weapon similar to that of Vladof, in terms of no distinct weapon type.

All COV weapons carry unlimited ammo, but they would overheat if not allowed to cool down. You can do this manually or use a squirt gun to do the job quickly instead.
